MECHANISM by Cameron Whale

Jagged toothed gears starting to ware,
Occasionally slipping
Certain spots skipping,
Cripples the load each Cogs made to
bare.
Machines keep producing unable to
care.

Its calculate coding coming straight from
the top,
Faithfully going
Pushes progress not knowing,
That parts far below gradually wither and
drop.
Moving parts come to a slow grind and
stop.

Production resumes by replacing the part
Soon turned to ash
Or resigned to the trash,
Holding no thoughts or feelings how it did
from the start.
Simply a matrix in motion all rhythm
no heart.
